Explore statistical data through Google

September 9, 2010

Google now has a web-based service called Google Public Data Explorer.  Through the service, users can access, manipulate and visualize a variety of publicly available datasets.  The full directory of datasets is here; while it’s not an exhaustive list of publicly available data, it includes important topics like development indicators, population stats, cancer rates/cases, greenhouse emissions, and much more. Typical of Google’s services, the data explorer interface is clean and easy to use.  So go exploring now!
